A closer look at three topics covered in the questions below.
Choosing between M1 and M2 brake pads
TEI street kits offer two free pad options. M1 (ceramic) is the quieter, low-dust choice, well suited to drivers upgrading from factory brakes, with a coefficient of friction of 0.38–0.43 across a 0–550°C range. M2 (metallic) suits a sportier driving style, with a coefficient of friction of 0.42–0.47 across a 50–700°C range; some metal friction noise is normal and expected. Check the product page for the pad option included with your kit.
Bedding in new pads and discs

Fully-floating caliper bells use titanium alloy bolts for stability; standard anti-loosening bells use 35CrMo alloy steel bolts. Carbon-ceramic discs require the full-floating bell design.
What information should I provide for a fitment check?
Please provide your vehicle year, make and model, VIN if available, wheel diameter/width and offset or ET, parking-brake type, and any suspension or wheel modifications. Photos of the wheel and current caliper are useful when a manual check is needed.
What if I change vehicles after buying a TEI kit?
Contact us before replacing the complete kit. Some components may be reusable, while vehicle-specific brackets, bells and related hardware may need to be changed. We will confirm the parts required for the new vehicle.
What should I send if I need installation support?
Send your order number, vehicle details, product model, installation position, photos or a short video, and details of any modified wheels, suspension or brake components.
What should I check if I hear noise after installation?
Some brake noise can occur while new pads and discs are bedding in. First confirm that the correct pad specification was installed, the hardware is seated correctly, and nothing is contacting the wheel or suspension. If the noise continues or you notice vibration, uneven braking or a warning light, stop using the vehicle and have the installation inspected by a qualified brake technician. Send us your order number, product model, vehicle details, and clear photos or a short video so our team can help.
How should new pads and discs be bedded in?
Follow the bedding-in instructions supplied with your kit and use a series of controlled, moderate stops. Avoid harsh repeated braking immediately after installation. The exact procedure can depend on the pad and disc combination, so use the instructions for your specific kit or contact us if you need a copy.
How do I choose between ceramic and metallic pads?
Ceramic and metallic compounds can have different pedal feel, dust and noise characteristics. Choose the compound specified for your kit and intended use rather than selecting by appearance alone. If you are unsure, tell us how you drive and which kit you have so we can confirm the available options.
