Custom rotor hats and caliper brackets from TEI Brakes, machined per application.

Each assembly pairs a 6061-T651 aluminum rotor hat (the hub interface of a two-piece disc) with a 45# carbon steel caliper bracket (the adapter that mounts the caliper to the vehicle). Both parts are produced by cold-forging and CNC machining.

Specifications:

  • Rotor hat: 6061-T651 aluminum
  • Caliper bracket: 45# carbon steel
  • Process: cold-forged, CNC-machined
  • Coverage: all vehicle models — made per application

Made to order: hats and brackets are manufactured for your exact vehicle and disc combination. Contact us with your vehicle details (year / make / model) and disc size.

Floating vs. Fixed Calipers

See why a fixed multi-piston caliper delivers a more direct, linear pedal feel.

Floating caliperTypical OEM

A single piston acts on the inner pad. The caliper body then slides on its guide pins to bring the outer pad into contact.

Floating caliper animation The inner piston moves first, then the caliper body floats outward before the outer pad clamps. Rotor Hydraulic pressure PistonOuter pad Inner pad Caliper body floats 1. Piston pushes inner pad2. Body floats outward3. Outer pad clamps

Two sequential steps create dead travel and a slight delay in pedal feel.

Fixed multi-piston caliperTEI design

Pistons on both sides move directly and at the same time, clamping the rotor in one controlled step.

Fixed caliper animation Opposing pistons and pads move together to clamp the rotor simultaneously. Rotor PressurePressure Inner padOuter padFixed caliper body 1. Pressure builds2. Pistons move together3. One-step clamp

Clamping force F = P × S: hydraulic pressure multiplied by total piston area. The response is direct and linear.
